Joseph Orlando |
xxxxxMy name is Joseph Orlando. I was born in 1984 in Summit, NJ, but moved to Hackettstown, NJ when I was only two. It is in this town where I have all of my favorite memories of growing up. I attended St. Mary's School in Hackettstown until I was in 8th grade, then moved to Ledgewood NJ to attend Roxbury High School. After graduating from Roxbury in 2002, I attended County College of Morris. During my time at CCM, I switched majors a couple of times, graduating in December 2005 with my Associates degree in New Media Technology. After taking the following spring to attempt to find a full-time job, with no success, I made the decision to return to school and pursue my Bachelors degree at Centenary College in Hackettstown, the town I grew up in. I am currently attending Centenary, and plan to graduate after the Spring '08 semester.
xxxxxThroughout my childhood and teenage years, I've always felt three strong pulls in life: writing, nature, and art. I was always writing little stories on my mother's old word processor, biking and hiking with my friends through the woods, and was ALWAYS drawing...be the drawings mere scribbles, or little comic books with my friends. As I grew older, I still held onto my love for writing and the outside world. but my artistic ability and interest was the one that developed the most. It wasn't until I bought my first Apple computer and got my hands on Adobe Photoshop, though, that I felt that my love for art came full circle, as digital artwork quickly became my favorite art "medium," with Adobe Photoshop being my favorite program with which to create artwork.
xxxxxI already finished a part-time internship and employment opportunity with the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Technology Center at Picatinny Arsenal, designing textures for three-dimensional munitions models to be used in training videos. I found the entire experience to be incredibly interesting, and would love to find a job where I could either do something similar, or something that could give me the same level of fulfillment that I had knowing that my abilities were being put to good use.
xxxxxMy desire is that I can acquire a full-time job during my final year of school or hopefully just after graduation, where I can put my artistic abilities to use once again.
